Exposure/Location: moist to dry forests

Height/Spread: : 30-60cm (1-2ft)

Bloom: April-May, on separate plants, male flowers light purple with yellow stamens, female flowers dark purple with lighter purple stigmas. Very subtle, the plant is grown mainly for its beautiful foliage that dances in the wind.

Comments: the foliage of the rue remains throughout the summer.
