Exposure/Location: partial sun to shade, deciduous woodlands, areas along woodland paths, wooded slopes along rivers, and edges of clearings in wooded areas, swampy woods

Height/Spread: 25-50cm (1–2½') tall, this plant forms colonies.

Bloom: April-June, clusters of white, pink, mauve, and purple bells.

Comments: Leaves sometimes appear water-stained, hence the common name.  Young leaves of this plant may be added to salads. The roots from this plant can be used to make a tea used in the
treatment of diarrhea and dysentery. Can be an aggressive spreader.
