Exposure/Location: Dry prairies, woods and other dry, open sites, generally full sun, found in alvars thus not needing much room for roots.

Height/Spread: 20-40cm (8-16in), slow groundcover

Bloom: May –June, bright pink, followed by tufts of plume-like seeds.

Comments: This plant is rare in Ontario and is an excellent plant for many seasons known as a semi-evergreen appearing after the snow melts.  Used in greenroof applications.
