Exposure/Location : Part shade/ shade.  Forests. Rich humus soils.

Height/Spread : 15-30cm (6-12 inches)

Bloom : April/May. Triangular burgundy/ maroon flowers lay on the ground (or close to the ground).

Comments : Somewhat heart shaped leaves.  Makes a great ground cover in shady areas.  Given time, will form large colonies.
