Exposure/Location: shade to sun, moist to dry conditions, woodland, meadow, alvar, rocky shore
Height/Spread: 30cm -120cm (1-4’), self sowing
Bloom: May-June, red with yellow tip, attracts butterflies hummingbirds
Comments: flowers are edible a sweet and attractive addition to salads, first year seeds will flower, good choice for naturalizing an area. Also works well in rock garden. Bumble bees access nectar by cutting into the spur of the flower. Juglone tolerant
