Exposure/Location: full sun-part shade, clay-sand but needs to be wet, swamp /marsh, fresh water aquatic, great for ponds, rain gardens. Dense matting roots useful for filtration.

Height/Spread: 40 -180 cm/ 2-5ft , similar growth to an iris.

Bloom: April-June, corn cob like flower/seed head that are yellow, green/brown.

Comments: fragrant foliage, used medicinally all over the globe.
